'Tourist' season ticket holders
Hello old cunts ( some may remember me) and everyone else. This tourist season ticket thing is it really true? is the new ground packed with tourists who know nothing about West Ham? I only ask 'cos now my kids are getting old enough I applied for a season ticket a good 18 months ago (i had a season ticket for 20+ years before 2006) still on the waiting list and I know a fair few like me too - so all the new 20,000 odd thousand can't all be 'motivated' tourists? most of them must be proper supporters - is the tourist narrative something that's developed and is now "FACT"?

I can't for the life of me workout why anyone would pay £1000 for season tickets at a club they don't support, it's fucking madness, why not save your money and go to the odd Arsenal game where you can

Go on holiday with the rest.

Catch 22 really,.Had the season tickets been dearer they wouldn't have sold 50.000 and there would be more seats empty every match.
Or was that tongue in cheek mate.

Not sure about the tourists. Those in the seats around me are all West Ham, but don't bother attending every game. Not always selling their seats on either, so end up with white seats each week.

I was a member back in the Harry period used to get for all the London derbies and Cat 1 games. Got married had kids, reduced to going to the odd game. Now my lads are older we used to the reasonably priced games and the old kid for quid and all that. Now tickets are few and far between not like before. If we struggled to sell out at the Boleyn then you can only assume it is tourist wankers.

A lot of tourist season ticket holders are not renewing for next season after the shitty lack of investment and atmosphere...

My mate's and his 2 boys are gooners, he has 3 s/t's at ours because he can't afford them at arsenal.

I'm a primary school teacher, and I took one of the boys only if he promised to keep schtum with his mum and back at school. Now we have a knowing look, but it's never to be mentioned.

I'm a primary school teacher, and I took one of the boys along one Saturday, as he'd been having a tough time at home and I had a spare ticket. I think the swearing was his best bit! I said he could only join in on the 'Fuck off Payet' chant if he promised to keep schtum with his mum and back at school. Now we have a knowing look, but it's never to be mentioned.

I think is fine. It's a good lesson to learn that there's sometime a time and a place, and other times not. I also think it can be a good father-son bonding experience, away from mum.

Took my boy twice last season and I think his favorite part was the swearing. I did the *don't tell your mum* knowing look thing and he's right on board.

Anyone remember captain Birdseye in the BML.... used to always bring in 2 or 3 pastries from Gregs... would spend the whole 1st half eating his way through them... he hated Lampard... so whenever Frank fucked up everyone within a 10m radius would get sprayed by crumbs... his beard was full of the fuckers

Re: 'Tourist' season ticket holders
Really don't understand people complaining about swearing at football. Not much of a swearer myself, don't particularly like it and never do it in front of the boy BUT when I took him for the first time this season (he was six) explained that there will be language that shouldn't be used away from the football. Good lesson to learn I think.

Did, however, have an issue with the guy behind us (in BML) that spat on his head everytime he got angry and swore. The boy loved the lads standing and singing though. Guess which ones the stewards had issue with.
